Experience the rugged beauty of Wadi Rum's desert climate,
where the sun, sand, and stars converge.

Sleep Under The Stars

Sleeping under the stars in Wadi Rum is a
magical and unforgettable experience.
The clear desert skies offer a spectacular
view of the stars, constellations and Milky
Way.

As night falls, the desert comes alive with
the sounds of nocturnal animals, such as the
calls of desert foxes or the hooting of owls
adding to the enchanting atmosphere.

Waking up to the sunrise over the desert
landscape is also a breathtaking sight,
making sleeping under the stars in Wadi Rum an
unforgettable and authentic desert experience

'Falcon's Nest'

We have a large clean cave cut into the rock face, close to our camp. Because of the incredible vistas that can be seen from the cave, we call it our 'Falcon's Nest'. It is wide open to big skies and a rock ledge above creates a natural roof.

There are two beautiful canyons close by, both of which can be safely explored alone. The first leads to the largest sand dunes in Wadi Rum. They are a short, easy walk from the cave. A great spot for morning exploring, or shaded sandboarding!

The second canyon is simply stunning. Start at our camp ground and take a 15 minute walk through this high sided canyon. At the end is Lawrence's House. Here there are spectacular views across the desert plain. It is easy to understand why Lawrence chose to live here. This spot is wonderful for taking photographs, or simply soaking up the desert atmosphere.

Lastly there is another short walk from our land across the desert plain. This takes you to some low rocks which are easy and safe to clamber up. It's a great spot to take in the sunset.

Mobirise
A typical evening in 'Falcon's Nest'

We meet you in the village and drive you across the desert by 4x4 to our spot. When you arrive we will light a fire and make tea. You can sit and relax, as your host cooks for you a delicious meal. We usually make a 'zarb'. This is a traditional Bedouin BBQ meal consisting of delicious chicken and vegetables cooked underground by fire. However, if you are vegetarian or prefer something else, just let us know when you book. There are many tasty dishes we can cook over an open fire.

Mobirise

After dinner, we sit together and discuss Bedouin life and culture. We tell old Bedouin stories, talk about the history of the desert, the Romans, the Naboteans, and our traditions.

As the sun sets over the desert, the temperature drops and the stars emerge, filling the sky with a dazzling display of light. The peacefulness of the desert at night provides a perfect backdrop for relaxation and contemplation.

We provide blankets, pillows and mattresses to keep you warm and cosy.

Waking up to the sunrise over the desert landscape is also a breathtaking sight. We will prepare breakfast over the fire. You can also use the shower block in our camp. Please remember to bring a towel.

Star Beds Camp

Our camp is a peaceful oasis in the desert. The tents are made in the traditional way from black striped woven goat hair. Their vibrant interiors are decorated with arabic colours and designs. Each tent is private and can sleep up to four people.

We also have a large communal sitting tent. Here we serve meals, exchange stories of desert adventures, listen to traditional Bedouin music, and sit round an huge open fire. All of course, whilst sipping a refreshing cup of hot Bedouin tea...

Wadi Rum For Children

We love to welcome families with children of all ages at
Wadi Rum Star Beds.

There are many fun and safe desert activities that families
can enjoy together.

We modify our jeep tours to travel at a more gentle pace.
The desert landscape is an exciting and stimulating
environment for children to safely explore. The huge sand
dunes are great fun for children to climb and roll down,
and we use our sand board as a sledge. Children are able
to get close and learn about the animals - Camel riding is a
thrill. Younger children can help collect sticks for the fire
and older children are afforded the opportunity to learn
about rock inscriptions, geology and bedouin culture.

We can adapt our meals to cater for smaller children,
offering plain easy food, cooked without spices.

If you have any special requirements, please just ask.
